About Me
When I was born I was given the name Meghan Kathleen Quinn. I was not consulted on the matter whatsoever. Dealing with the lack of inclusion for the letter “h” in my name in nearly every instance in my life notwithstanding, my name has served me well. My pronouns are she/her, although the older I get, the more I realize just how on the spectrum of this gender thing we all are.
In a series of events that would take far too long to tell here in an about section, I have had the last names Coffee and Arias. The men behind the two names could not be more different. Again we need more time. The story behind why I am now Meghan Quinn-Simmons would require a spend the night and a lot of cheese. And wine.
Ergo? Meghan Creates. It makes the most sense. I do create. I am a creator.
I created two delightfully wonderful and functioning human beings birthed from my body; I create music and melodies; I create paragraphs from words from letters; I create images as best as I can with cameras whether myself personally or producing them; I create events and experiences that usher in delight and wonder; I create with paint and pianos and tape and paper and glue and (god dammit I just freaking love office supplies) canvas and whatever else makes sense in the moment. I hope to create spaces and places and moments for people to not feel so alone. I’m currently and very very slowly, working on a one woman (but with other people in it) musical memoir show.
Let’s see. What else.
Writing an about me section about oneself is hard. Will someone come over and help me with this? Shoot me a note?
Thank you for not smoking.
Oh, and please call me, Meg.
